see you at the poll(s).
hosted by the new york times and created by design observer with aiga, the polling place photo project is ... "... a nationwide experiment in citizen journalism that encourages voters to capture, post and share photographs of this year’s primaries, caucuses and general election. By documenting local voting experiences, participants can contribute to an archive of photographs that captures the richness and complexity of voting in America."

the fantastic mr. anderson.
speaking of which, in case you haven't noticed, 'the fantastic mr. fox' has been pushed back to 2009 and is still in pre-production. i venture to say we won't be seeing it any earlier than 2010.photo found on foto_decadent.

update your drawers!
hilary alexander gets in your pants and sorts out the shoulds and the should-nots. what she recommends? the basics:"Your updated drawer should contain a couple of really well-made, classic bra and knicker sets in white or black for work; a T-shirt bra and seamless boy-short knickers which give smooth curves under tight fitting outfits, and a good quality sports bra."
p.s. i recently purchased a couple of these bras and plan to buy some more. i recommend!

it's an easy mistake to make...
...but no, that's not me.more goals for '08:
i will travel more, even if it means packing myself away in a suitcase. i am so, so grateful for my getaways last year. cape cod and santa fe with the boyfriend, dc with the family and san francisco to visit the best friend. this year, looks like san francisco will be first. beachy mexico also looks pretty promising in the next few months, and the boy and i are plotting our way to visiting at least one state and another country we've never visited (i stole his resolution, and included myself in it).
also...
take more pictures.
eat sensible meals (or at least a meal a day).
win lots of money through gambling or the lottery (completely different things).
don't take shit at work (easier said than done).
more goals to come. by the way, i kind of give myself a grace period for adopting resolutions because my birthday's the second week in january and i consider that the start of my new year.
cheers!
photo (and a bunch more quite interesting ones) by merkley???.
pirelli calendar club.
unbeknownst to me until 5 minutes ago, pirelli (yes, the tire company) issues a beautifully styled (and apparently legendary) calendar every year. with photos shot by the likes of bruce weber, mario testino, annie leibovitz, herb ritts and richard avedon, they feature some of the most beautiful people in the world.
this year, it was done by patrick demarchelier.
i never knew my tires were so stylish.

hello, 2008.

some goals for the new year (photos, clockwise from top left)...
get thin again!
go platinum.
carve out a sewing spot (and sew!)
bake all the beautiful things i say i'm going to.
save, save, save!
be outside more.
indulge in louboutins.
find nigel.
go home more & see family.
organize! (pug, included.)
stop biting my nails & make short, red nails my signature.
among others that didn't make the photo cut:
keep in touch with friends far away
take better care of my skin! (my 25th year! that's nearly 30, which is nearly 40. oh my!)
more to come, i'm sure.
and happy new year!
this new blog of mine will (hopefully) help me chronicle the progress of these resolutions and also will serve as a little scrapbook for inspiration.
